Drafting:
To come up with my story, it was easier than I thought. Only one event that has happened in my life that changed my view on life, when my younger cousin was diagnosed with stage 4 sarcoma cancer. You can read my script on the "Script and Pictures" page from The Power Within main page.
My first draft was much more difficult than any other. I started writing the story and created the back bone structure of all the events I wanted to include. My second draft was "putting the meat" into my story to make it clearer about what was happening as if the audience was there experiencing it with me. Third draft wasn't that bad. Most of it was finalizing the parts I wanted to emphasize and make more detailed. The writing process was fine for me. I did get stuck on remembering some minor details but besides that it was smooth! What really helped me was the talk I had with Ms. Betsey. She was an outside visitor looking into my story and made wonderful suggestions that made a difference. When making the multiple drafts, it was mostly just copying and pasting as well as adding more or deleting some. It wasn't as bad as I thought, but what really helped was making a copy of the first draft to then edit then making the copy of the second draft to edit and so on. This showed my progress as you can see. Draft two |
